CHARACTER NAME: Tristan
CHARACTER SERIES: King Arthur (2004)
[OOC]
Backtagging: Yes. Barring extenuating circumstances, I'll backtag until the thread has reached its logical conclusion.
Threadhopping: Yes, if all players involved are okay with it.
Fourthwalling: Depends. I'm not usually interested in it, but you can ask me first.
Offensive subjects (elaborate): Clearly label any sensitive/triggering or NSFW content and we'll be good. I prefer to avoid overly graphic descriptions of gore, (nonconsensual) sexual violence, and animal abuse.
[IC]
Hugging/kissing/flirting with this character: Yes. Whether he's receptive or reciprocative depends entirely on what kind of CR he has with the character in question. He isn't especially tactile or physically affectionate in general, but doesn't mind others initiating it, and he does have his moments. While sharing a celebratory drink, for example, he wouldn't think anything of leaning in to kiss a friend should the mood strike him.
Fighting with this character: Yes. As long as it's relevant to the thread in some way. Tristan has extensive combat training as one could expect of a knight, and is shown to be especially adept with bows, knives, and swords. That said, he will rarely go looking for a fight. The fight finds him often enough.
Injuring this character (include limits and severity): Yes. Anything that makes sense within the context of the thread. But I'd like to discuss how it'll go down.
Killing this character: Maybe. We'll need to discuss it first.
Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Maybe, ask me first. Tristan isn't likely to appreciate the invasion and that may end the interaction prematurely.
Warnings: Tristan can be exceedingly blunt and tends to speak his mind without being all that concerned about others' sensibilities. His manners aren't the best. He may offend your character, and it may be on purpose. Please be aware that's part of who he is and isn't intended as an OOC slight against you as a player. Maintaining the IC/OOC boundary is important to me.
I'll do my best to respect others' preferences if I'm aware of them and will label any potentially triggering content, so please mind the headers. If you have any concerns don't hesitate to PM me.
Maybe worth mentioning I'm ESL, and apologise in advance for any English errors. I'm happy to accommodate other players, so feel free to talk to me if there's anything in particular you want to play out. I'm open to interacting with characters from any medium, OCs, and I love AUs of all kinds. I'm cool with assumed CR as long as we discuss it first. There are some things I won't play, mainly along the lines of what I mentioned above in "offensive subjects". If you'd like to drop a thread with me, I'd appreciate a heads up so we can agree on a handwaved conclusion if it's needed (especially in games).
If for any reason you wish to opt out of tags from me, please let me know.

Character Information
Name: Tristan.

A man of many talents and very few words, when Tristan does speak it's usually worth heeding. His quiet, taciturn nature and stoic manner conceal depths of feeling that are more often, more easily expressed through his actions. Though he was afforded no choice in serving the Roman commander Artorius Castus, or Arthur, the long years spent at his lord's side since childhood have facilitated a close bond of brotherhood and friendship to grow between the two men, as well as with Arthur's other knights. Tristan holds them in high regard and possesses a deep respect for each, despite what his occasionally cutting banter might lead one to believe. As far as he's concerned, he has earned the right to take such liberties with his brothers.
Of all Arthur's knights he's shown to be the most accomplished marksman, with both archery and knives, and is also adept with the sword and in unarmed combat, as any knight worth their salt ought to be. His swordsmanship is unique in its effortless, flowing form that at times appears to have the qualities of a dance, fully utilising Tristan's incredible speed and lethal efficiency. He may not have the sheer brute strength of Bors and Dagonet, but he's resourceful, and can easily hold his own in most situations he finds himself in. His hawk is as much a pet and companion as an additional tool in his arsenal, and along with his keen observation skills is part of what makes him an excellent scout. His personal mount is a strongly built, compact dapple grey Andalusian, with whom he shares a bond one could expect of a Sarmatian, renowned for their horsemanship.
Several small plaits have been woven into his shaggy hair, sometimes adorned with beads or runes or even shed feathers from his bird. There are symmetrical black tattoos on either side of his face, an unusual feature which sets him apart from his fellow knights. He keeps a beard.

By 300 AD, the Roman Empire extended from Arabia to Britain. But they wanted more. More land. More peoples loyal and subservient to Rome. But no people so important as the powerful Sarmatians to the east. Thousands died on that field. And when the smoke cleared on the fourth day, the only Sarmatian soldiers left alive were members of the decimated but legendary cavalry. The Romans, impressed by their bravery and horsemanship, spared their lives.
In exchange, these warriors were incorporated into the Roman military. Better they had died that day.
For the second part of the bargain they struck indebted not only themselves...
...but also their sons, and their sons, and so on, to serve the empire as knights.
Our post was Britain--or at least the southern half, for the land was divided by a 73-mile wall built three centuries before us to protect the empire from the native fighters of the north. So, as our forefathers had done, we made our way and reported to our Roman commander in Britain, ancestrally named for the first Artorius, or Arthur.
—Excerpt from the film
“We're all going to die some day. If it's a death from a Saxon hand that frightens you, stay home.”
—Tristan
Of all Arthur's knights he's shown to be the most accomplished marksman, with both archery and knives, and is also adept with the sword and in unarmed combat, as any knight worth their salt ought to be. His swordsmanship is unique in its effortless, flowing form that at times appears to have the qualities of a dance, fully utilising Tristan's incredible speed and lethal efficiency. His personal mount is a strongly built, compact dapple grey Andalusian, with whom he shares a bond one could expect of a Sarmatian, renowned for their horsemanship.
“Never liked looking over my shoulder anyway.”
—Tristan
Several small plaits have been woven into his shaggy hair, sometimes adorned with beads or runes or even shed feathers from his bird. There are symmetrical black tattoos on either side of his face, an unusual feature which sets him apart from his fellow knights. He keeps a beard.
“I don't kill for pleasure, unlike some.”
“Well, you should try it some day. You might get a taste for it.”
—Galahad and Tristan
